Overview

Friends Season 6 settles into the comfortable mastery of a show that has, by this point, so completely internalized its characters that every actor can find truth and comedy in any situation the writers construct. The Chandler-Monica engagement — arrived at through one of the series' most genuinely moving proposal sequences — becomes the season's central organizing relationship. Ross's annulment crisis generates the season's most sustained comedy plot. Rachel and Ross as roommates is handled with restraint. Joey's Days of Our Lives work gives him material that plays to his strengths. The season ends with Chandler and Monica preparing for their wedding.
