Friends Season 5 navigates the aftermath of the London wedding with the delicate, high-stakes care that the show's writing staff had by this point fully mastered. Ross's accidental marriage to Emily — and the devastating decision Emily makes when she realizes she cannot simply pretend the Ross-and-Rachel history does not exist — provides the season's most sustained dramatic thread.
