Overview
The Crown Season 4 continues the story of Queen Elizabeth II (Olivia Colman). The season covers the years 1977 to 1990. It introduces two major new characters: Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson) and Lady Diana Spencer (Emma Corrin). The season explores the conflict between the Queen and Thatcher, the Falklands War, and the fairy-tale wedding and subsequent breakdown of the marriage between Prince Charles and Diana. The fourth season ends with the Queen giving a speech about her "annus horribilis."
