Overview
Die Hard with a Vengeance is a 1995 action thriller film directed by John McTiernan, the third film in the Die Hard franchise. The film stars Bruce Willis as John McClane, who is now a disgraced police officer, suspended from the force. He is called back to action when a terrorist, Simon Gruber (Jeremy Irons), the brother of Hans Gruber, begins a bombing campaign in New York City. Simon forces McClane to play a series of deadly games, while he robs the Federal Reserve Bank. McClane is partnered with a reluctant Harlem shopkeeper, Zeus Carver (Samuel L. Jackson). The film is a cat-and-mouse thriller, set in the streets of New York City. It features a memorable sequence where McClane and Zeus must drive a car through Central Park while being hunted by a helicopter. Die Hard with a Vengeance was a critical and commercial success, earning over $366 million worldwide. It is considered the best sequel in the franchise by many fans.
