Breaking Bad Season 4
Overview
Breaking Bad Season 4 is the most intense and suspenseful season of the series, focusing on the cat-and-mouse game between Walt (Bryan Cranston) and Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito). After Gale's death, Gus decides that Walt must die and that Jesse can replace him as the cook. Walt is isolated and paranoid — his family is afraid of him, his partner is working with his enemy, and his former allies have turned against him. The season follows Walt as he outmaneuvers Gus at every turn, from orchestrating the murder of Gus's henchmen to poisoning a child (Brock) to manipulate Jesse into turning against Gus. Skyler (Anna Gunn) becomes increasingly terrified of Walt, and she uses the car wash to launder his money. Hank (Dean Norris) is recovering from his paralysis and becomes obsessed with finding Heisenberg. The season ends with Walt killing Gus by detonating a bomb in a nursing home, then walking away from the explosion. He tells Skyler, "I won." Breaking Bad Season 4 is a masterpiece of suspense, showing Walt's complete transformation from a desperate man to a ruthless kingpin. The season is widely considered the best of the series.
