Stranger Things Season 3
Overview
Stranger Things Season 3 is set in the summer of 1985, during the Fourth of July. The kids are now teenagers, dealing with crushes, jealousy, and growing apart. Mike and Eleven are dating, and Hopper is overprotective and stressed. The new Starcourt Mall has opened, becoming the town's social hub, and everyone works there. The Mind Flayer returns, but this time it cannot possess Will because the gate is closed. Instead, it possesses people — starting with Billy (Dacre Montgomery) — and uses their melted, combined bodies to create a massive, grotesque, fleshy monster. The season is a summer blockbuster, full of action, body horror, and 80s nostalgia. It features an epic finale at Starcourt Mall, where Hopper apparently sacrifices himself to close the gate. The post-credits scene reveals that the Russians have a Demogorgon in Kamchatka, and that "Hopper is alive" — setting up Season 4. The third season is the most action-packed and visually spectacular season of the series.
