Overview
The Americans Season 1 is the first season of FX's period spy thriller, set in the 1980s during the Cold War. The series follows Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell), two Soviet KGB officers who are posing as an ordinary married American couple in suburban Washington, D.C. The first season follows Philip and Elizabeth as they conduct espionage, assassinations, and sabotage. The season ends with them successfully completing their mission.
