Overview
WandaVision Season 2 ventures into the aftermath of Wanda Maximoff's most devastating act of magic and its consequences for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's understanding of what the Scarlet Witch represents. Following the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda is believed dead — crushed beneath the rubble of Mount Wundagore after destroying the Darkhold across every universe. But the Darkhold's corruption and the Scarlet Witch prophecy are not so easily concluded. The season explores what happens when grief and love become so powerful that they begin to warp reality itself, even in the absence of the person wielding that power. Across the world, strange events are occurring — reality is glitching, people are experiencing visions of alternate lives, and the barriers between universes are weakening. Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), forever changed by her experience inside the Westview anomaly, has developed abilities that place her at the intersection of multiple competing interests. The government wants to study her, the Skrulls want to recruit her, and the mysterious organization S.W.O.R.D. wants to contain her. Vision (Paul Bettany), reconstructed after the events of WandaVision, is trying to understand what he is. He is not the same Vision who died in Infinity War — he is a being made of Wanda's magic, her memories, and her love. He has powers that no other being possesses, and he is being hunted by forces that want to study him. The season introduces new characters: a young woman who has the same chaos magic abilities as Wanda; a scientist who believes that the Scarlet Witch was not a villain but a necessary force for cosmic balance; and a being from beyond the multiverse who claims to be the true source of chaos magic. The season also features flashbacks to Wanda's childhood, revealing more about her powers and her mother's legacy. WandaVision Season 2 is a deeply emotional exploration of grief, power, and the question of whether someone who has done terrible things can ever be forgiven.
