The Last Samurai
Overview
The Last Samurai is a 2003 epic historical action drama film directed by Edward Zwick, starring Tom Cruise as Captain Nathan Algren, a disillusioned American Civil War veteran who is hired to train the Japanese Imperial Army. He is captured by a samurai rebellion led by Katsumoto (Ken Watanabe). He learns the samurai way of life and becomes a samurai himself.
