Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Overview
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a 2024 post-apocalyptic action film directed by George Miller, a prequel to the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the younger version of Imperator Furiosa, a fierce, one-armed warrior; and Chris Hemsworth as Dementus, a charismatic, brutal warlord. The film is set several years before the events of Fury Road. Furiosa is a young girl who is kidnapped from the Green Place, a fertile oasis, by a group of bikers led by Dementus. She is sold to Immortan Joe (Lachy Hulme), the dictator of the Citadel. The film follows Furiosa as she grows up in the Citadel, learning to fight, to survive, and to hate. She rises through the ranks, becoming a trusted Imperator. The film is an epic, sprawling, and visually stunning action film. It features spectacular car chases, intense hand-to-hand combat, and a memorable performance by Chris Hemsworth as a gleefully evil villain. The film ends with Furiosa killing Dementus and taking his place as a leader. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga was a critical and commercial success, earning over $200 million worldwide. The film was praised for its action sequences, its performances, and its world-building.
