The Firm
Overview
The Firm is a 1993 legal thriller film directed by Sydney Pollack, based on the 1991 novel by John Grisham. The film stars Tom Cruise as Mitch McDeere, a young, ambitious lawyer who joins a prestigious law firm in Memphis. He discovers that the firm is involved in money laundering and murder. He must find a way to expose the firm without getting himself killed. The film is a tense, twisty, and suspenseful thriller. The Firm was a critical and commercial success, earning over $270 million on a $42 million budget. It was nominated for two Academy Awards.
